Upper back stretches can be practised in case of muscle tenseness or after strong workouts. But many people tend to have a hunched back what makes the stretching of that area less necessary.
Upper back stretches
Upper back stretches can be practised in standing, sitting, or kneeling position. Your stretched arms pull straight forward to the maximum. Your shoulders follow. Curve the upper back as much as possible with your head facing downwards. Feel the stretch tension.
Alternatively you could cross your arms right below shoulder lever trying to touch both hands behind your back (hugging yourself). Both variations stretch the trapezius as well as the rhomboid muscles.
There are various types the stretching can be exercised. Please read types of stretching to learn about the different ways to stretch if required.
